Greenbaum created “In the Mind of the Beholder,” a collaboration of Eskaton with ARTZ: Artists for Alzheimer’s. The multi-faceted project brings together the uninhibited minds of older adults with dementia and young children in creative arts workshops to paint their interpretations of “happiness.” An exhibition of this work now tours the country; while news coverage promotes Eskaton’s memory care communities and innovative “happiness labs.” More substantially, reports from participants’ families and Eskaton care staff support a growing body of formal research linking happiness to better health.
