THE COINCIDENCE OF DÉJÀ VU AND AMNESIA

Who among us hasn’t experienced that precarious fight with gravity when you tilt back too far in your chair and then desperately try to recover? It’s a freakish sensation – sort of the coincidence of déjà vu and amnesia.

Not dissimilar to that of being caught taking too big a lead off first base. … Or, hearing the bone-chilling declaration that precedes all breakups, “We need to talk.” Or, for that matter, any other near death experience.

In such dreaded, defining moments, when your life is up in the air, literally and completely, it could help to heed the advice of Satchel Paige, “Don’t look back, something may be gaining on you.”
